I love Hip Hop. It's up's, down's and all the in betweens. That's why I wish that this era would realize that "dancing" is cool, and very much a part of Hip Hop. But at the same time WE are the voice of our generation. Somewhere along the way we stopped being the voice. That's why there are so many misguided youth, and so much violence. These kids don't have any role models. Just dance teachers. Now don't get it twisted, I'm not knockin' any of our "new school" artist, I'm just saying that there is no balance. Radio has COMPLETELY abandoned positivity and meaning, for the latest ringtone or dance craze. And most of the songs are Overly sexual which actually ENCOURAGES kids to engage in sexual activity (ex. Pretty Ricky, Plies, even Soulja Boy has em "kissing through the phone") And that leads to teen pregnancy. Which Ultimately leads to Kids that have no clue raising kids that have no chance. This happened a few days ago, but I had to speak on it. What's oing on out there, it's like a Civil War between the People and the Police. Man I remember spending Hours taking turns with my homies back in the day trying to make it to Tyson in this classic game, just to get knocked the hell out before I got to him. EVERYTIME. Then the magical thing happened one day while I was on summer break from school. I woke up got myself ready for the day (back then that meant, I brushed my teeth and faked like I washed my face so I could hurry and play the game) I turned on my nintendo, popped in Punchout, and started to play. For some reason that warm summer morning, I was on a roll... I whupped fighter after fighter, and finally found myself standing face to face with IRON MIKE TYSON. Back then that was SCARY. EVEN IN A VIDEOGAME.

And the biggest question (ok I lied, I have two questions.) How come not one charge against Michael stuck. Not one. I don't know about you, but in America, if you run around touching little white boys booties... Yo ass is going to jail. And don't gimme that "he got money" crap either, because Micheal was damn near if not already bankrupt by the end of his ordeal. And even still, THE STATE was the one filing the charges. THEY pursued it, so it didn't matter about money... They were tryna get Mike caught up. Didn't work. Why? Because he wasn't doing that shit. Don't let media hype fool you. But I'm rambling on about that and haven't even gotten to the point of this post. Here's the point. Uh, ok, here goes. The point is... Wait, I forgot.

Up and Coming Rapper Kid Cudi is quitting Rap before he even hits the "mainstream". I know alot of you aren't familiar with his music and alot of you are, but he is definitely making noise. This post isn't about me being a fan or not (I'm still newto Cudi too) But this is more about the fact, I feel where he is coming from. I Absolutely HATE the music business. I can't stand how the people in power hold that and dangle it above your head. And when I say people in power, it's not the old school "people in power", It's a new school of Power Players... You don't have to be the owner of Sony, or MCA records anymore. You could just be a POPULAR DJ, or a PR that is in the "in" Circles, a magazine editor. A conference sponsor. Anything. Today Power comes in all shapes, sizes and positions. The problem with this is, sometimes you wanna tell that person to kiss the inside of your ass and shit while they're doing it. But if you do, you cut off one of your legs. So you gotta take whatever bullshit you gotta go through, no matter how lame, you gotta keep kissing new asses, no matter how much you know that if you weren't aiming for your goal and you ran across this person, you'd beat the LIVING shit out of them. But because you have to "network" you have to play professional. Just like this new sh*t "Twitter". Nigga's that think they important tend to ignore niggas they think aint. HA! Somebody shoulda told them that the same people you step on to get to the top, will be the same niggas waiting when you come back down. Music is Music, Life is Life. I met this guy several years back in Atlanta, Ga at the Uptown Comedy Club. It was also the first time I met Comedian Lil Duval. (Lil Duval was unknown then, on the come up) But there was an open mic for comedy, poetry and rap/r&b on Tuesday Nights. Obviously I'd go up there to showcase my songs, But I remember the first time I heard Jon Goode do his thing. I was speechless. I had always heard about Poetry Slams and Poetry Night, but I always thought that that was for women or "neo-soul" type men. Ya dig where I'm going? But he started his set and said a poem that made me instantly realize that, Poetry is DOPE. It's the same as what I do, just without the beat. Sometimes it's even MORE powerful because there is no beat. Nothing to distract you from the words. As the Poet paints you a vivid picture, and takes your mind and emotions on a journey. All I can say is that I love Poetry and I suggest if they have Poetry Night at the Club or Lounge near you, don't be like me and think that it's not for you. It is.... It's for all of us. And no you don't have to burn incense and drink green tea. They serve Henny and coke, Goose and all that other poison..lol. Most of Mike Tyson's matches ended with him knocking his opponent out within a minute of the first round. Then just like alot of other "public figures" Scandals and bad press took over and actually became the "opponent" that he couldn't beat. It was sad to watch Tyson's fall from grace... But if you were lucky enough to see Mike Tyson in his Prime, It was a sight to behold.

He took rap and turned it into a competiton, while at the same time maintaining a "ladies man" image. Big Daddy Kane would rock the Velour suit with fresh alligators, while most of his peers where wearing High top gymshoes with the laces untied, and jeans. He wasn't afraid to be the "smooth operator". Big Daddy Kane will go down in history as one of the best that EVER did it. And I completely co-sign his legacy. Me and some friends of mine maintain a very resourceful Hip Hop/Everything else spot and have for YEARS now ( a few of my friends are listed in the links at the bottom of my blog!). But I realized one thing, A blog is a blog and I don't have one. So here is my attempt at keeping up with yet another creation of technology. Now I only have 4,856 things to keep up with a day. But I actually learned something about myself along time ago. I'm pretty good at the written word, or in this case, the typed word. But you get my drift. I am VERY outspoken, but I am fairly intelligent so I can be. Don't get this serious shit twisted though. I'm Flyboy and you'll NEVER meet another like me! I'll make you laugh, cry, and dance all at the same time. Welcome to my mind. So I hope that you check out my blog regularly and see what the rest of the world has been trying to figure out as well. This right here is right up my alley... I believe there are a lot of social stereotypes that have been instigated or subliminally placed in the Black Race, which leads and has led to the complete destruction of the "Black Family". Now I'm not here saying that it is a white persons fault that things are like they are today. Yesterday? Yes, history proves that. But today? No it is our own fault that we choose to continue to promote and gravitate toward destructive behaviors. I am guilty just as the next man is, so I am not pointing fingers, I'm simply stating that in order for this to change, we must be willing to change AT the SAME time. A lot of people don't realize that People who have a voice, such as myself, should use it. To educate, to reverse, to inform. Some of our biggest entertainers push off negative stereotypical images to our kids, who in turn wanna be "just like them" so they exchange learning at school to "Trap", or they exchange getting a job, to "work the block" because that is what their "heroes" do. But what these "hereos" don't let these kids know, is that they are indeed quite intelligent, and handling multi-million dollar careers, with staff and and assistants. They are sitting in corporate meetings and making business decisions. Among those decisions are the false images they are gonna portray to you, to get you to continue to buy into their image. Now don't get me wrong... Many of your favorite rappers did have to be in the "Trap" and hustle on the streets before they made it. But only because they had no other choice. Once the music offered them another choice, Almost EVERY single one abandoned the "Trap" lifestyle. The few that didn't are the ones you read about that go in and out of jail, and most of their career is spent behind bars with albums out that they can't promote. So that is why I choose to do the music I do. To educate and at the same time have fun. But it gets harder and harder to accept the "fun" part when I see all of our youth in gangs, having children at 12 and 13, and acting as if its ok because "Lil Wayne" said so. So that is an artist like myself's dilemna. Find the right balance of "fun" (so that you will listen) & and "truth" (so that you get something out of it) To much of one, I'm "soulja boy" (who is 18 yrs old, so he is supposed to be having fun) To much of the other, I'm "Chuck D"... who? Exactly. One of the illest MC's to ever touch a mic, but because he ONLY speaks truth. Today's generation will NEVER hear him. The Truth is unacceptable today. A man named David Upchurch is now telling media sources about his stint as First Lady Michelle Obama’s first boyfriend. The then 18-year-old Mrs. O was escorted by him to her Whitney Young High School prom in Chicago (above pic). They grew up together, were neighbors in the Chi, and David now lives in Colorado Springs, CO.
He says the reason they broke up is because he didn’t have his life together and he was “a screw up”.
